?1. World Junior Badminton Championship : लक्ष्य सेनला कांस्यपदक

  • भारताचा आघाडीची ज्युनिअर बॅडमिंटनपटू लक्ष्य सेनला कॅनडात सुरु असलेल्या World Junior Badminton Championship स्पर्धेत अखेर कांस्यपदकावर समाधान मानावं लागलं आहे.
  • उपांत्य फेरीत लक्ष्यला जागतिक क्रमवारीत पहिल्या क्रमांकावर असलेल्या थायलंडच्या कुनलावत वितीद्सरनकडून पराभव पत्करावा लागला.
  • 17 वर्षीय लक्ष्य सेनने याआधी आशियाई ज्युनिअर चॅम्पियनशीप स्पर्धेत कुनलावतचा पराभव केला होता.
  • 2011 साली भारताच्या समीर वर्माने या स्पर्धेत कांस्यपदक पटकावलं होतं,
  • यानंतर तब्बल 7 वर्षांनी भारतीय खेळाडूला या मानाच्या स्पर्धेत पदक मिळवणं शक्य झालं आहे

?2. टेबल टेनिस स्पर्धा : मानव ठक्करचे कांस्यवर समाधान

  • बेलारुस खुल्या टेबल टेनिस स्पर्धेमधील २१ वर्षांखालील एकेरी गटात भारताच्या मानव ठक्कर याने कांस्यपदक पटकावले.
  • मानवला उपांत्य फेरीत रशियाच्या डेनिस इवोनिनकडून २-३ असा पराभव पत्करावा लागल्याने कांस्यपदकावर समाधान मानावे लागले.
  • त्यात अगदी अटीतटीच्या लढतीत मानवला ११-९ असा पराभव स्वीकारावा लागला.

?3. अंतराळातून दिसतोय स्टॅच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी!

  • जगातील सर्वात उंच पुतळा असलेला ‘स्टॅच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी’ थेट अंतराळातून दिसत असल्याचा दावा करण्यात येत आहे.
  • गुजरातमधील सरदार सरोवरजवळ उभारण्यात आलेला सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल यांचा हा पुतळा अंतराळातून दिसत असल्याचे काही छायाचित्र समोर आले आहेत.
  • उपग्रहांच्या माध्यमातून घेतलेल्या छायाचित्रातून ही बाब समोर आली आहे.
  • ऑब्लिक्यू स्कायसॅट (Oblique Sky Sat) ने १५ नोव्हेंबर रोजी ‘स्टॅच्यू ऑफ युनिटी’चा हा फोटो शेअर केला.
  • हा पुतळा ५९७ उंचीचा आहे.
  • ३१ ऑक्टोबर रोजी पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी लोकार्पण केले होते.
  • शिल्प साकारण्यासाठी सुमारे २ हजार ३८९ कोटी रुपयांचा खर्च आला.
  • चीनमधील बुद्धांच्या पुतळा (१५३ मीटर) आणि न्यूयॉर्क शहरातील स्टॅच्यू ऑफ लिबर्टी (९३मीटर) यापेक्षा हा पुतळा उंच आहे.

?4. वाहतुकीचे नियम माेडल्यास लायसन्स हाेणार तीन महिन्यांसाठी रद्द

  • राज्यातील वाहनांची संख्या दिवसेंदिवस वाढत अाहे. त्यातच अपघातांची संख्या वाढली असून अपघातात मृत्यूमुखी पडणाऱ्यांचे प्रमाण कमालीचे वाढले अाहे.
  • रस्ता सुरक्षा समितीची नवी दिल्ली येथे अाढावा बैठक 12 जानेवारी राेजी अायाेजित करण्यात अाली हाेती. या बैठकीत अपघातांमधील जखमी व मृत्युंचे प्रमाण वाढले असल्याने त्याबाबत चिंता व्यक्त करण्यात अाली हाेती.
  • त्यामुळे शासन निर्णयानुसार विविध वाहतुकींचे नियम माेडणाऱ्या वाहन चालकांचा परवाना निलंबित करण्याचे अादेश पाेलिसांना देण्यात अाले अाहेत.

?5. एचएएलची ‘तेजस’भरारी!

  • हिंदुस्थान एरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेडचा (एचएएल) ‘राफेल’ या लढा‌ऊ विमानांच्या करारात विचार झाला नसला तरी तेजस या आधुनिक लढाऊ विमानांची निर्मितीचे काम एचएएलला मिळणार असल्याची शुभवार्ता आहे.
  • ओझर आणि बेंगलुरू या दोन्ही ठिकाणच्या एचएएलच्या कारखान्यांत एकूण १२३ विमानांची निर्मिती केली जाणार आहे. यातून एचएएलला १ लाख कोटी रुपयांचे काम मिळणार असल्याची माहिती संरक्षण राज्यमंत्री डॉ. सुभाष भामरे यांनी रविवारी नाशिक येथे दिली.
  • देशातील दुसरे डिफेन्स हब नाशिकलाच होणार असल्याचेही डॉ. भामरे यांनी स्पष्ट केले.

The 9th Annual Defence and Security Dialogue between India and China held in Beijing.  It held between the two Defence delegations headed by Defence secretary Sanjay Mitra and China’s deputy chief of Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission.

?2. NITI Aayog constitutes Himalayan State Regional Council for development of Himalayan region

NITI Aayog constituted Himalayan State Regional Council to ensure sustainable development of the Indian Himalayan region. It will be chaired by Dr. VK Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog and will consist of Chief Secretaries of Himalayan States as well as Secretaries of key Central Ministries, senior officers.

?3. Indian Navy completes refit of Maldivian Coast Guard Ship Huravee in Visakhapatnam

Maldivian Coast Guard Ship (MCGS) Huravee successfully completed her refit at Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam and the ship was formally handed over to Major Mohamed Jamshad, Commanding Officer MCGS Huravee in a ceremony organized to commemorate the occasion on 15 November 2018. The event concluded by customary crest exchange between the ship and the chief guest.

?4. Nongkrem Dance Festival Celebrated In Meghalaya

Nongkrem dance festival, an annual event during which prayers are offered for good harvest, peace, and prosperity of the community was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the inhabitants of the Khasi Hills in Shillong, Meghalaya. The unique dance is performed by the members of Hima Khyrim, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Khasi tribe.

?5. List of Loan Agreements Signed With Asian Development Bank

India and ADB have signed 3 important loan agreements in various fields/projects in New Delhi. The signatories to the loan/projects Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance; and Mr. Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission, who signed for ADB. The 3 Loan Agreements Signed between India and ADB are:  A $300 million Loan Agreement to support lending by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL).  A $169 million loan as the First Tranche of a $500 million multi-tranche financing to develop climate-resilient water supply, sewerage, and drainage infrastructure in at least 10 cities in the State of Tamil Nadu.

?6. RBI Governor to face Parliamentary panel on 27th November

Urjit Patel, RBI Governor, is to appear before a Parliamentary panel on November 27. He will brief various issues, including the stand-off with the Centre, the status of the economy and demonetization.  The 31-member Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, which includes former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is headed by Congress leader Veerappa Moily. However, the MPs would also raise the issue of the stand-off between RBI and the Centre.

?7. Sixty second National shooting championships begins

The 62nd National shooting championships, rifle, and pistol, began on 16th November at the Vattiyoorkavu shooting ranges, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The women’s 10m air rifle preliminaries which have attracted a record 815 entries. The event will conclude on December 7. Around 6000 shooters will be participating in this championship event. The shooters are given free training also. The event is being held here for a second consecutive year in the location where the facilities which were created for the 35th National Games held in the State three years ago.

?8. Gukesh won World u 12 Open chess championships

International Master, D.Gukesh, with 10 points, won the World u-12 open chess championships in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Around 851 participants from 86 federations took part in the Championship event. Volodar Murzin of Russia finished second by securing 8.5 points and Nico Chasin of USA settled for third place by securing 8.5. India stood second with two golds, while China and USA took the 1st and 3rd spot.

?9. NGT directed Volkswagen to deposit Rs.100 crore as penalty

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed auto major Volkswagen to pay an interim amount of Rs.100 crore with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) after the allegation were made on the company saying that it used cheat devices in emission tests in its diesel vehicles. A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel further constituted a committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Central Pollution Control Board and the Automotive Research Association of India, to estimate the quantum of environmental loss.

?10. Andhra Pradesh CM, West Bengal CM bar CBI from entering states without approval

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu has withdrawn the ‘General Consent’ given to the CBI, barring it from search and operations in the state without approval. In the notification issued this week, the state cited lack of confidence in the CBI after its top officers were accused of corruption. This comes after Naidu-led TDP withdrew from the NDA government this year. West Bengal government too withdrew the free pass or “general consent” to CBI.
